Grey Gelding, 6x8, oil signed, $75, miniature, horse, western, artist sean conrad

Well, my 20th post is of a beautiful grey gelding that was being used in some cowboy mounted shooting competitions. He was pretty rockin' out in the competition ring, and the skill of those horses was pretty amazing. I've always admired horses that can have firearms shot from them without spooking. Anyway, here he is, the link to bid on ebay is below and bidding starts at $75.00. 10 more days to go on my painting challenge! Have a Blessed Day!

It is a beautiful jewel in America's cap. Today's painting is entitled "Lone Grazer" and is a 6x8. Bidding starts at $75.00 - Have a Blessed Day!

January Along the St. Vrain, 6x8, $75, oil on linen, sean conrad, miniature, signed landscape

Well, I know I'm 4 days behind on my daily painting... but with good excuse, my family and I made a last minute decision to go down to a show I was included in at Abend Gallery, in downtown Denver. So on Friday, we all loaded in my wife's jeep and off we went. Got to see some old friends and also some family as well. It was a lightening fast trip though basically two days of driving and one day of work. I did however manage to make it to my old stompin' grounds shoot some late afternoon photos... so while I'm feeling the mood, I painted a little snow today. I know it's not cowboy related, but I love painting snow scenes. So, here it is and have a Blessed Day!

A Backwards Glance, 6x8, oil, $75, miniature, western, cow, signed

Well, here's my 15th painting. This one I switched over to my regular linen that I paint on. I had been using some prestretched canvas' and just wasn't happy with the surface quality of those. These last two paintings have been more enjoyable for me to paint. My larger work will be in Abend Gallery's - "Old Traditions/New Frontiers" Show opening Friday night in Denver. Be sure to check it out if you're in the area. I'll have several western and cowboy paintings that are larger pieces in the show.  Bidding for this one starts at $75.00 and the link to bid is below.

Well, here's my last painting of 2014. If I could raise it up in the air and toast you for a year full of painting in 2015 I would... I am hoping that each one of you will have a wonderful 2015 - full of God's Blessings, full of family, friends, health, peace, life and art. I hope and pray that 2015 will lead me down a road where I become a much better artist. I'm constantly reminded of my short comings in my paintings and I know that there is much improvement needed - but you can only do the work to the best of your current ability and grace and reach forward to doing better on the next one... Lookin' on the Land, 4x5, signed, original, sean conrad Western, $45.00

Well, I know this one is a little late, it's not that I was slacking today - honest. I actually had one done way earlier today, but took some photo's of it, and felt a paper towel with some turpentine on it was a much better option for it than this blog. So, with my other duties as a husband and father mixed in, I ended up doing an evening painting - and here it is:

"Almost There" 6x8, oil on canvas, original, sean conrad, unframed

Well, in honor of the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ, I took Christmas off. But I have a new one for today. It's entitled "Almost There" and shows that moment when you're racing time and almost there. Speaking of which, we're almost to the end of the year, it seems like 2014 flew by. It's always this coming week that my wife and I take to thinking on what we're going to set our hopes and faith on this coming year. That will of course determine our goals, and eventually our futures. I hope everyone begins to think of the new year, not in resolutions, but in possibilities.

"Flinging Mud", 5x7, Oil on Canvas, $75.00, signed, original, unframed

I remember this day quite well, our entire area had just gotten a huge soaking that morning and the rodeo was that evening. My daughter and I were just spectators but, boy did we leave covered in mud (nothing like up close and personal at a rodeo). Most of the events that night were decided by whether or not the animals could stay on their feet or not.
